WHY CAN'T I STOP PUTTING CHEMICALS IN MY body?

IF HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING FOR ALONG TIME NOW,AND I AM REACHING A POINT OF TOTAL FRUSTRATION,II DESPERATLY NEED TO LIVE A LIFE OF A CHEMICALLY FREE EXISTANCE,ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,WHAT IS THE LORD TELLING ME OR AM I JUST COMPLETLY LOST WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF FAITH IN THE UNSEEN. WHY WHY WHAT AM I NOT GETTING.CAN'T I EXPERIENCE THE REST OF MY DAYS ABLE TO BE HAPPY,ENERGETIC,CLEAR..WITH OUT.........
Answer:
There is no short answer to this, but I'll try. When you start taking chemicals, there is a rush of dopamine produced (that's the chemical in the brain that produces sensations of pleasure). Your body likes that, which makes you want to do the chemical again. Over time, your body does not produce dopamine as well because it is getting free shots of it from the chemicals going into your body. Also, those chemicals start working in the part of the brain that is associated with survival. So, one way to look at addiction is that your body is confused and thinks it needs the chemicals for survival. Ok, so here's what you can do: Go to a doctor who knows about addiction. There are several medications that will assist your body in resisting the cravings for chemicals. This will give your body a chance to retrain itself to produce it's own dopamine. Eventually, you will start feeling simple pleasures again and it will be a little easier to resist chemicals. Also, let someone you trust in on this, you need support to get through it. If you have used heavily, make sure someone knows that you are quitting, as occasionally withdrawal needs to be medically monitored. There is hope for a happy, energetic, clear life without substances. Hope this was helpful and not too technical.
your body is used to the chemicals you have to carefully grade down it to the level where it is not working more
what do you mean? what are you taking chemically?
well, you have already completed the first step of quitting an addiction - realizing that you have a problem and that you are powerless right now over your addiction.

The second step would be reaching out for help whether it be from your family or your doctor. That is really all you have to worry about for now. Just get this next part done.

I have an addictions website http://www.whatwinnersdo.com and in the section where I tell my story it deals with what led me up to getting help. check it out.
